Sharon Kindred is a wonderful woman! She was born in Matheson, Ontario on July 1, 1955. Daughter of Joe and Verna Woodrow, Sharon is one of five children. She has two older, and two younger siblings. When she was one year old, she and her family moved to Timmins Ontario.
Sharon was born again, on March 24, 1973, at seventeen years of age, in an evangelistic service in her home church.
Sharon has always had a love for the things of God and a love for children. She taught Sunday school for two years or more before she came to know Jesus as her personal Saviour. Following her conversion, she became active in her youth group; often leading the youth services. It was during one of these services that Sharon caught the eye of a young paramedic who later became her husband.
Throughout her adult life, Sharon has taught Sunday school, headed up midweek children's ministries, and has always spoiled kids rotten.
Together with Wilson, Sharon raised her three children (Joe, Amy, and Donna). Daily, she taught them the Word of God. She has always loved her children and her husband sacrificially. She stayed at home with the children until all three of them were in school.
Once the children were in school, Sharon worked in various vocations. As a ‘Home Care Provider’, she found wonderful opportunities to show the Love of God to those in need. She also worked as a machine operator and a forklift operator. While working as a factory labourer, Sharon was offered the opportunity to try welding. As in everything else that she has ever done, Sharon excelled. She was soon promoted to the position of ‘Lead Hand’ in the welding department at Broda Enterprises and served in that position for thirteen years.
In July of 2007 on a Saturday morning, the Lord spoke to Sharon and Wilson and made it vividly clear that Sharon was to leave her employment to join Wilson in full-time ministry. Wilson had already been on the road for six years. It was time for her to join him. Out of obedience, her love for God, and her love for her husband, Sharon hung up her welding helmet. Sharon and Wilson moved to Kirkland Lake, Ontario (Wilson's hometown) to facilitate the Ministry.
Over the last ten years, Sharon has employed her welding skills to convert three different buses into motor-homes for Ministry. ‘She’s an amazing woman!” Her husband says. “There is nothing that she can’t do! There is nothing that she won’t do for her children, her husband, her grandchildren, or her God! No sacrifice is too great! There’s no woman like my wife! She is the very best!”
On the road, Sharon or ‘Namma’ as the children call her, is ‘front line’ in the children’s Ministries. She tells Bible stories to the children, using an elaborate flannel-graph system. She works tirelessly to design and prepare wonderful crafts and games, which are so cleverly linked to the Bible stories. She and Evan join forces to lead the children as they sing the Bible story choruses.
Sharon absolutely loves the kids that she Ministers to on the road. Between trips, she and Wilson visit their children and grandchildren whenever possible. She spoils them all rotten!
Sharon’s Favourite Scripture:
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea,
I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Sharon’s Favourite Food: Baked Potatoes and Steak.
